BÝLKENT SENFONÝ ORKESTRASI ÞEF: KLAUS WEISE Bilkent Senfoni Orkestrasý (BSO), 1993'te Bilkent Üniversitesi'nin özgün bir sanat projesi olarak kuruldu. Orkestra, Müzik ve Sahne Sanatlarý Fakültesi'nin öðretim kadrosunda yer alan, Türkiye ve 12 ülkeden 90'ý aþkýn sanatçý ile birlikte Enstitü bünyesinde "yüksek lisans" ve "sanatta yeterlik" (doktora) düzeyinde akademik çalýþmalarýný sürdüren Türk ve yabancý genç sanatçýlarla 120'ye varan üyeden oluþuyor. Bilkent Senfoni Orkestrasý, bu özellikleriyle, Türkiye'nin "ilk özel, akademik, uluslararasý sanat topluluðu"dur. Kuruluþunda "Sinfonietta" tanýmýna uygun bir topluluk olarak çalýþmaya baþlayan Orkestra, yapýsýnda bir "Akademik Oda Orkestrasý" ve bir "Yaylý Çalgýlar Topluluðu"nu içererek "Orkestralar Topluluðu" kimliðini taþýmaktadýr. Sanat yaþamýmýza her yýl 80'i aþkýn etkinlikle katýlan topluluk, her dört oluþumda, bugüne deðin konserleri, televizyon, radyo kayýtlarý ile yayýnladýðý 30 üzerinde CD ile kýsa zamanda seçkinleþmiþtir. 2003 yýlý içinde Avrupa ve Japonya'ya CD dizininden ihraç eden BSO, Emil Tabakov yönetiminde, Jean-Philippe Collard ile Çaykovski ve Sancan piyano konçertolarýnýn kayýtlarýný EMI firmasý için gerçekleþtirmiþtir. A. Adnan Saygun'un piyano, keman, viyola ve viyolonsel konçertolarý CPO ve Peer Musik iþbirliðiyle; Tabakov konçertolarý ise Naxos etiketiyle 2007 yýlýnda piyasaya çýkan albümler arasýndadýr. Kurulduðu 1993 yýlýndan beri gerçekleþtirdiði etkinliklerde, çeþitli kurum, kuruluþ ve özellikle sivil toplum örgütleriyle yaptýðý geniþ iþbirliðiyle, sanatýn toplumsal yaþamda iþlevsel kýlýnmasýný ilke edinen Orkestra, "Evrensel Kardeþlik ve Dünya Barýþýna Katký", "Yerelden Evrensele Kültürel Tanýtým" ödüllerinin sahibidir. Bilkent Senfoni Orkestrasý, 2009 yýlýnda "UNICEF Türkiye Ýyi Niyet Elçisi" ilan edilmiþtir. BILKENT SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA CONDUCTOR: KLAUS WESSE The Bilkent Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1993 as an original artistic project of Bilkent University. Developed by the Faculty of Music and Performing Arts, the orchestra is composed of over 90 proficient artists and academicians of the Faculty from Turkey and 12 countries. Turkish and foreign artists, continuing their post graduate studies at the Institute of Music and Performing Arts also participate in concerts to further expand the orchestra. With these characteristics the Bilkent Symphony Orchestra, is the first private, international and academic, artistic ensemble in Turkey. Starting as the "Bilkent Sinfonietta" the symphonic orchestra now has the identity of an ensemble of orchestras, comprising the "Bilkent Chamber Orchestra" an "Ensemble of Wind Instruments" and various other orchestral formations. With Turkish and foreign guest conductors, soloists and choirs, the ensemble of orchestras has distinguished itself through its season events of over 80 concerts per year and the television and radio broadcasts of these performances. The national label Bilkent Music Production has released over 30 CD’s of the orchestras concerts. Amongst the Orchestra’s latest recordings are the Tchaikovsky and Sancan piano concertos with Jean-Philippe Collard under the baton of Emil Tabakov for EMI. Productions released in 2007 include A. Adnan Saygun’s piano, violin, viola and violoncello concertos by CPO in collaboration with Peer Musik and the Tabakov Concerti by Naxos.
