Festivalin protokol konserinde yine her seneki gibi Cazýn Kartallarý açýlýþý yapýyor. Bu sene Kartallar'a Türkiye'nin müzik duayenlerinden Ýlham Gencer solist olarak eþlik edecek. Ankara'nýn daimi caz orkestrasý bu sene de ölümsüz eserlerden oluþan caz repertuarlarýyla kulaklarýmýzýn pasýný silecekler.
CAZIN KARTALLARI ORKESTRASI TARÝHÝ
Hava Kuvvetleri Dans ve Caz Orkestrasý 1961 yýlýnda dönemin Hava Kuvvetleri Komutaný Orgeneral Ýrfan TANSEL’in direktifi ile Hava Kuvvetleri Bando Komutanlýðý bünyesinde kurulmuþ olup orkestranýn þefliðine Orhan Sezener getirilmiþtir. Hava Kuvvetleri Dans ve Caz Orkestrasý tarihi boyunca, Almanya, Fransa, Ýtalya, Belçika, Bosna Hersek gibi Avrupa ülkelerinde ve ülkemizde katýldýðý festival, konser ve Radyo-televizyon programlarý ile ilgili çevrelerin takdirlerini kazanmýþ, Türk çok sesli müzik yaþantýsýna deðerli katkýlarda bulunmuþtur. Glenn MILLER orkestrasýnýn solo trompetçisi Yarbay STANLEY, 1962 yýlýnda Ankara’da görevli olarak bulunduðu sýrada Amerikan Büyükelçiliðinde dinlediði Hava Kuvvetleri Dans ve Caz Orkestrasýný çok beðenmiþ ve kendi çabalarý ile orkestraya güncelliðini her zaman koruyan, ölümsüz eserlerden oluþan bir caz repertuarý kazandýrmýþtýr. Hava Kuvvetleri Dans ve Caz Orkestrasý 1969,1970 ve 1974 yýllarýnda Türkiye’de yýlýn sanatçýsý seçilmiþtir. Bu dönemde orkestranýn kuruluþundaki kadrosunda trombon icracýsý ve aranjör olarak görev yapan emekli astsubay Bilbay ÖZAL’ýn katkýlarý ile 1998 yýlýnda Caz Orkestrasý tekrar çalýþmalarýna baþlamýþtýr. Hava Kuvvetleri Dans ve Caz Orkestrasý Ankara, Ýzmir ve Zonguldak Caz Festivallerinde Hava Kuvvetlerini baþarý ile temsil etmiþtir. Ankara Caz Festivali 2005 yýlý açýlýþ konserinde caz severlere baþarýlý bir konser sunan orkestramýzýn ismi, Hava Kuvvetleri Komutaný Orgeneral Faruk CÖMERT’in direktifleriyle “CAZIN KARTALLARI ORKESTRASI” olarak deðiþtirilmiþtir.

HISTORY OF TURKISH AIR FORCES AND JAZZ ORCHESTRA
Turkish Air Forces Jazz and Dance Orchestra was founded by the directive of Ýrfan TANSEL, the Turkish Air Force commander of the period in 1961. Along it's history, with the many festivals, concerts, radio-TV shows the orchestra had attended in and out of Turkey, and they were appreciated by the critics. Lieutenant colonel Stanley, the trumpet player of the Glenn Miller orchestra, liked the Air Forces Dance and Jazz Orchestra which he listened to at the American Embassy while he was on duty in 1962 in Ankara very much, and brought the Orchestra a repertoire made of timeless pieces which kept its currency at all times. The Air Forces Dance and Jazz Orchestra was chosen to be "the artist of the year" in 1969, 1970 and 1974. Turkish Air Forces Jazz and Dance Orchestra had represented Turkish Air Forces successfully in various Turkish cities. The name of our orchestra which performed a very successful concert in the opening concert of Ankara Jazz Festival 2005 had been changed as "Cazýn Kartallarý" by Air Force Commander Fullgeneral Faruk Comert.
